Getting ready for our trip to France

It's nearly three years since we last cycled in France and this time we are heading further South and exploring the area east of Lyon and south of Annecy. Our Cannondale bikes are still in the UK, where they have been stored, and we will be putting new tyres on both bikes and servicing them before we leave for Lyon on the Bike Express around the middle of August. Our final destination is Nice where we will decide whether or not to sell our bikes or take them back to Australia.

As before we will travel light using two backpacks for most of our gear. One small pannier set will be purchased in the UK so that we can store some of our clothes and food for each day. We will be travelling for six weeks this time and plan to take it easy, taking in the sights and attractions of each area. From Lyon we head north east and our planned stops are at Meximieux, Chanaz, Aix-Les-Bains, Annecy, Albertville, Chambery, Grenoble, Pont-en-Royans, Tournon-sur-Rhone, Crest, Nyons, Bollene, Les Vans, Saint Martin d'Ardeche, Vaison-La-Romain, Carpentras, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorge, Apt, Forcalquier, Greoux-les-Bains, Moustiers-Saint Marie, Castellane, Seranon, Grasse and finally to Nice.
